Official "Hometown of Superman" Day/ "Wear Your Shield to Work Day"

On January 21, 1972, DC Comics officially recognized Metropolis as the Home of Superman, establishing a unique cultural identity that continues to draw visitors from around the world. In recognition of this day the Chamber is hosting a community-wide event titled 'Wear Your Shield to Work Day'. To encourage involvement, the Chamber is offering these shirts at 20% off. At 10AM a ceremony will be held at the Superman Statue, where Mayor Gregg Jeffords will read an official proclamation recognizing the day. Following the ceremony, Superman-themed treats will be provided at the Chamber.
